What We Believe

Our Foundation in Faith at Family of God Church

At Family of God Church, we are a non-denominational community of believers who are united by our shared commitment to following Jesus Christ. While we embrace diversity in our congregation, we are anchored in a set of core beliefs that form the foundation of our faith. These beliefs are derived from the teachings of the Bible, which we hold as the inspired and authoritative Word of God.

Authority of the Bible

We believe that the Bible is the infallible and authoritative Word of God, serving as the ultimate guide for our faith and practice. It is our source of truth and the standard by which we measure all teachings and beliefs.

The Triune God

We believe in the triune nature of God—Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit. We affirm that God is eternal, all-powerful, loving, and just. He is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe, desiring a personal relationship with each and every person.

Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, who is fully God and fully human. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, rose from the dead, and ascended to heaven. Through faith in Jesus, we receive forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life.

Salvation by Grace through Faith

e believe that salvation is a gift of God's grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ. It is not earned through our own efforts or good works, but is a result of God's mercy and love. We emphasize the importance of repentance, accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior, and experiencing a transformed life in Him.

Holy Spirit Empowerment

We believe in the person and work of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit dwells in believers, empowering them to live godly lives, equipping them with spiritual gifts for service, and guiding them in understanding and applying God's Word.

The Church as the Body of Christ

We believe that the church is the body of Christ, consisting of all believers. It is a diverse and loving community called to worship God, nurture one another, proclaim the Gospel, and serve the world. We value unity, love, and the pursuit of spiritual growth within our church family.

Sacraments/Ordinances

We observe two sacraments/ordinances—baptism and communion. Baptism is an outward expression of an inward faith, symbolizing our identification with Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. Communion (also known as the Lord's Supper) is a remembrance of Jesus' sacrifice, as we partake in His body and blood shed for our redemption.

Second Coming of Christ

We believe in the personal, visible, and imminent return of Jesus Christ. We eagerly anticipate His coming and the fulfillment of God's ultimate plan for redemption and the establishment of His eternal kingdom.

At Family of God Church, these beliefs serve as our guiding principles.
